About Us Now
The Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum is a 2 ½ day live-in program for Year 11 students who reside in or nearby the Mitchell Electorate. Students are generally nominated by their schools, churches, sports groups or service organisations. The program is strongly based around the values of service to others, integrity and courage.
The Forum is a chance for Year 11 students to come together and share thoughts and ideas on how to be great, inspirational leaders in their schools. At Vision Valley you will experience the wise knowledge of exceptional leaders and speakers, as they share their personal stories and secrets about what it is to be a great leader each and every day.

The students participate within small groups consisting of eight students and two small group leaders. These small groups provide a challenging environment for students to make new friends, learn from people they do not know and appreciate unfamiliar points of view. The success of the small groups is in the leadership of adults who are chosen on the basis of their lives exemplifying the values of service to others, integrity and courage. Leaders are generally 20 to 30 years old. We stress that leaders do not come with personal agendas whether they be religious, political or work-related. The forum is for students from a wide-variety of backgrounds and it is important that leaders respect their views.
The people that make the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum a success are the committee members mentioned below who without their dedicated help the Forum would not be possible. The committee is responsible for providing speakers, contacting principals and students, gathering and training leaders, activity and service elements of the program and securing sponsorship.
