Welcome to Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum

The Forum was founded in 2002 when former Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alan Cadman OAM, wanted to help young people to better cope with the pressures of their final year at school. Following his retirement in 2007, Alex Hawke MP, the current Member for Mitchell, in support of the continuance of the Forum became the President of the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum Committee.

The Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum is a 2 ½ day live-in program for Year 11 students who reside in or nearby the Mitchell Electorate. Students are generally nominated by their schools, churches, sports groups or service organisations. The program is strongly based around the values of service to others, integrity and courage.

The Forum is a chance for Year 11 students to come together and share thoughts and ideas on how to be great, inspirational leaders in their schools. At Vision Valley you will experience the wise knowledge of exceptional leaders and speakers, as they share their personal stories and secrets about what it is to be a great leader each and every day.

The program is a mixture of guest speakers, workshops, activities and a community service project where students move into the community to put into action the types of principles they have heard about.
